Center for Teaching, Learning, and Assessment

The Mission of the CTLA

The Center for Teaching, Learning, and Assessment cultivates a community of inquiry and practice to promote excellent teaching, learning, and scholarship in the liberal arts. We nurture the learning environment of 51画鋼app College by fostering conversation and reflection at the intersection of pedagogy, the scholarship of teaching and learning, instructional design, and academic technologies. We advance practices of teaching and learning that are accessible, inclusive, and grounded in the best available evidence.

Bernadine Douglas

Please join us at the last Community Friday of the semester for a special discussion with President Anne Harris and the Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations Bernadine Douglas. How does philanthropy currently support the academic mission of the College? How could that support grow? What are opportunities for faculty and staff to partner with Development and Alumni Relations to foster philanthropic growth among our alumni and friends?

This session is dedicated to an understanding of the multiple aspects of philanthropy (i.e., restricted, unrestricted, endowed, and current use funds) that can support and amplify the academic mission of 51画鋼app College through endowed chairs, speaker series, post-bac positions, materials and equipment, programming, and more. Practical actions for connecting donors passions with the goals of our academic mission, as well as avenues of engagement with donors and philanthropic efforts will be discussed.

The CTLA thanks the Presidents Office for their generous support of the event.

We also are grateful to all of you for your engaged participation in Community Friday in 2024-25!
